The food is tasty and even though they were packed it only took 30 minutes. You get a lot of food. My only complaint with the food is that if you are going to take the time to butterfly the shrimp, please remove the poop vein! FYI, the spicy has too much chili powder which just makes it spicy but not more flavorful. I love spicy but enjoyed my daughter’s original better. Unfortunately every Chinese tourist in Okinawa will visit Kouri Shrimp. We have been coming here since it was van and a small building…..now it’s a 3 floor complex! They close at 6pm, but the seating closes at 5:30 (edit: since we were already sitting they didn’t kick us out and let us eat there)……they are extremely busy all day. Plan on waiting and sitting outside. The food is great…..but the waiting and listening to tourists yelling at each other and coughing makes you want to pass and go to a different spot we like up the street.

Hands down probably the best shrimp I have ever had and so far the best meal we have had on island. My husband could not stop talking about it and saying he would make the hour drive to just get it again! Our oldest isn’t a fan of shrimp but had some of her sisters and loved it and said she wants the shrimp bowl next time! They were sold out of chicken when we got there but that was totally fine. We got two orders of the buttery garlic shrimp and my husband got the spicy, my oldest got one of the açaí bowls and loved it! The spicy garlic shrimp bowl was perfect they put the spice on the side for you to add how much you want on there. We also got there fries, which the girls loved. The bowls are big portions and will definitely fill you up. I had a hard time finishing mine. I highly recommend stopping if you are even remotely in the area, it’s worth the drive! 🦐🌸

I first visited this place about 5 or so years ago back when it first opened and was just a truck on the right side after the long bridge to Kouri island. The prices were a bit cheaper (not that they are outrageous now, based on the quality it is still a very good deal), I don't recall there being much English, and all the meals were served on paper plates. It was amazing then and it's still amazing today. When we arrived today after a beach trip a bit further north, we were blown away by just how much they have grown. Their new location is awesome! Great view, plenty of seating, kind smiling faces serving up the same delicious shrimp they always have. A few new additions to the menu, but the quality is all the same. Very happy to see they are doing so well and they even kept the shrimp truck! If you're in the area you have to stop by and give them a try.

Very busy outlet but food well worth the wait. We opt for the garlic version, some 6 prawns in savoury garlic sauces came with 2 Japanese rice balls in the bowl. Level 1: punch in order in a machine and pay up. This took some 10min depending on how quickly the people in front can decide on their orders. Level 2: collect food when number is shown on screen. This took 20-30min wait. There are also in/out-doors seating areas. Indoor tables will be dominated by families since the play corner is also on this floor. There is wash room, handwashing sink and drinking water available as well. Level 3: outdoor seating with canopy for some shade. U do get a nice view of the sea from here if u put up with the heat. Not much service or atmosphere aside from above. Food is not for those who likes them blend.

just go for the original shrimp - we ordered the mixed (butter + spicy) and paid about 430yen more for literally a slab of butter (which wasnt melted on the shrimps but simply placed on the side) and a small cup of chili powder - refer to picture. the taste of the shrimp is decent but we did felt like we were ripped off because of the extra we paid for the butter + powder at the side, which were marketed as "different flavours" when they were really just toppings/condiments. we also ordered fries and corn soup and they were nothing special. definitely a tourist trap - go if you want a "been there, done that" experience. also, do not go on a rainy day unless you are ok with taking away and eating (and peeling the prawns shells) in the car, as there is no shelter at the eating area.

Tantalizingly tasty! People who know me know that I do not like eating at food trucks, but this place may change my mind. I have eaten at this location twice and have been happily surprised both times to have the tastiest and juiciest shrimp that I have had on Okinawa. There are several flavors to choose from but if you like spicy, I recommend the Spicy Hot Garlic Shrimp. For those who like food without the spicy heat, then I recommend the Garlic Shrimp Butter and Lemon. The price is reasonable and they are open Monday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. They get busy so I would get there early to avoid the rush especially during tourist season. Just one caveat, it is outdoor seating so it can get uncomfortably hot during the summer. However, I will be back.
