(Trip was made back then on 21 Nov 2019, 2 years before the Covid-19 Pandemic hit) Mahoroba Daibutsu Pudding is probably one of the signature souvenir from Nara Prefecture. Unfortunately the main store is located further up north, but thankfully they retail it here at the local gift shop. They come in different flavours but we stuck with the classic custard, which was pretty good and had a mild milky fragrance.

The pudding was delicious! It was so smooth and creamy and they had so many flavours to try! My friends and I tried green tea, custard, white coffee, and rare cheese flavour. All we're good! And after we were done eating, the staff gave us clean versions of our custard jars so we could take them home as souvenirs! I would definitely recommend!

The custard is very yummy. Soft and smooth, it comes in about a dozen flavours. I got the white coffee, which had bits of chocolate at the bottom and the green tea which had some green tea flavoured cream at the bottom. Both were absolutely delicious. They get served in small glass containers with different lids. They make great souvenirs.

So. Many. FLAVORS! This pudding cannot be beat. I wish I could of eaten every type of pudding they had (granted I could barely fit the one pudding in my stomach - japan turns me into an eating machine.) So delicious and comes in an adorable glass pot. Each pot has a cute mascot on the lid, to boot. (This review is from September 2019)
