Located in the pedestrian street of Nara city, it was very popular for tourists to visit. I came in with high expectations from looking at the display and posters. Craving for ramen, I ordered the signature chicken soups ramen, Daiburu Ramen. It was a big bowl filled with two half-eggs, three batter fried shrimp (too much batter), pork belly. The biggest reason for a 3 star (more towards 2 star) is due to its overly salty soup for the chicken soup ramen, the other dish, dipping noodle was also too salty. The bright side of this meal was the chicken soup mixed with rice afterwards cooked with a fresh egg, if not, I could only give 2 star.
If short on time when visiting Nara, I would recommend explore some other places for better tasting ramen, but it was a cool experience to make your own rice soup.

I had expected a small shop with small number of seatings, but it turned out to be a spacious shop with English menu available (appreciated it) and a pretty international mix of guests. The staffs were attentive and professional. I had a standard tsukemen, with rice and raw egg for congee making. I loved the noodles - they were chewy, and the size was just right for a light eater like me. The chashu was delicious as well. I did the congee experience out of curiosity, but I think it was a bit too much and salty. I got quite...
Read moreThe ramen was excellent. We ordered the shoyu and tori paitan ramen with egg. The shoyu ramen had a lighter soup while the tori paitan hada rich tasting soup. Both were spectacular. We also ordered gyoza and it was also good. Their prices were reasonable. The staff member who attended to us was pleasant.
The place is kind of tricky to find because the door is a little narrow. Please refer to photos for the picture of the facade that you need to look for. It is beside a Chinese restaurant. Genkishin is the one on the left.
I recommend this place.
Edit: I forgot to mention that they have free high speed internet for customers so...
