We visited here at Narita Airport while waiting for my flight, and it turned out to be one of those pleasant little surprises you don’t expect to find in an airport. The café is located inside the Japan Food Hall, which makes it a very convenient and comfortable stop before boarding. The atmosphere is cozy and calm, a nice break from the usual airport rush.
The coffee here is genuinely good. I ordered a cup of hot and iced latte, and it was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, not too bitter and not too light. It is clear they take pride in what they serve. They also have a great selection of snacks and light bites. There are many kinds of pastries and bread to choose from, such as red bean bread, white bean, chocolate bean, banana, muffins, sandwiches, and even rice-based options. Everything looks freshly baked and nicely presented, perfect to enjoy with coffee or to take away.
The staff are incredibly polite and attentive. They greeted us warmly, and I noticed how careful and professional they were with every customer. What stood out to me was how well they spoke English. It made communication so easy and pleasant, which is always appreciated, especially for travelers.
I honestly don’t understand why the ratings for this café are low. In my experience, it deserves much better. The service, coffee, and food were all above average, and the place itself is clean and inviting. Maybe people overlook it because it’s tucked away inside the Food Hall, but it is definitely worth finding.
If you are at Narita Airport and looking for a good cup of coffee or a small meal before your flight, I highly recommend stopping by Coffee Kanno. It is a little gem that deserves more attention and better recognition. I would certainly come back again on...
Read moreWas excited to find a pour over option in the airport but disappointed that after the initial bloom, the barista quickly poured the remaining amount of water over the grounds in one pass. For ¥800 I would like a proper pour over brew time of at least 3 min. I ordered a large size light roast—it tasted a bit watered down, but was still enjoyable after drinking mostly darker roasts during my stay in Japan. Would still recommend this place if you’re...
Read moreIt’s alright if you want a fast meal and don’t want to risk being late for your boarding time by going to the sushi or tempura place. They have sandwiches, cakes, cookies, and drinks. The sandwiches were ok…would have been better if they didn’t have wasabi in them(?!). The chocolate cake was tasty. Of course, it’s all expensive since you’re at the airport. Especially their water. Get water from a vending machine instead unless you really want the...
