My family had a great dinner here, we enjoyed the delicious food, the cozy atmosphere and the lovely talk with Duong-san, the chef/ owner of this home run restaurant.
I have tried many Vietnamese restaurants in Japan, it is not that easy to find that authentic taste of Hanoi food and particularly dishes made from high quality home-made ingredients like in here, so in a way I feel like we have found our new favorite restaurant and it is worth over an hour drive to come here to eat.
Just to clarify the chef used to live and ran restaurants in Hanoi (northern VN) and Hue (central vn) so the food has a good variety. I tried the Banh Xeo set with Pho Ga (chicken noodles), my husband had Bun Cha, and my mom had Beef noodles set (with fresh spring rolls and salad). All are very tasty. I was particularly impressed with the grilled meat in Bun Cha because they barbecue the thin slices of pork belly over coal (not just grill the meat in the oven) which gives authentic smoky flavor that I barely find anywhere in tokyo. The sauce is well-done. The set also has really generous portion of meat… (over our expectation).
Space wise it is clean and neat, giving cozy feeling. The owner is also very friendly and she takes time to get to know the patrons if having time.
Highly recommend if you want a high quality authentic Vietnamese meal and you enjoy food that is prepared with care. I think it is value for money, we will definitely come back and will want to try other dishes too.
You better call to reserve before arriving. Parking...
Read moreNice Vietnamese restaurant run by a kind couple. They have a takeout menu in these days, so the first time I took advantage of it and had their banh mi. I have lived for ten years in the Tokyo/Kanagawa area and this banh mi ranks at the top in my book (the only comparable one, though with different style, is Ebisu Banh Mi Bakery's in central Tokyo). Later on, I had the opportunity to go there a few more times and try different foods: they are all ecellent. If I have to pick one that you can't miss I'd say the banh xeo: it's...
