The char siew ramen is one of the best I have experienced.

The noodles was cooked to perfection and the shoyu broth had depth in taste. Garnished with spring onions, the whole bowl was perfect for a balmy winter afternoon.

Gyoza skin was not too thick and if packed with more fillings, it would be superb.

The dining atmosphere was casual and there was a mix of table seats and floor seats.

Overall, a must-try if you are in Okayama!...

Didn’t know it was a place listed in the Michelin Guide until I after I was done with the meal but I wasn’t surprised. It was pretty good, especially nice after a chilly day walking around in the wind. I really want to give it five stars because it did hit the spot at the time, but then again… I don’t know what makes this place special or stand out among other soba...

中華そば 冨士屋（ふじや） （岡山県岡山市／最寄駅：岡山）

JR岡山駅西口から徒歩5分、奉還町商店街にある昭和25年(1950年)創業のラーメン店「冨士屋」。

あっさりしたとんこつ醤油スープで、岡山ラーメンの王道の味として長年愛され続けるお店。「ミシュランガイド京都・大阪＋岡山2021」で「ミシュランプレート」を獲得している人気店。

岡山市内では戦後まもない昭和20年頃から、中心市街地で中華そばを出す屋台やバラック小屋が生まれ、鶏ガラや豚骨を使った醤油ベースのラーメンがご当地ラーメンとして広まっていた。

こちらの「冨士屋」は昭和25年にうどんやぜんざいを出す食堂としてスタートし、昭和28年に中華そば専門店になったそうだ。

向かいにある「浅月本店」も昭和23年(1948年)創業とどちらも岡山で最古参のラーメン店で、戦後の岡山ラーメンの歴史はこの奉還町から始まったと言われている。

この日は8月のお盆の平日昼14時過ぎに訪問。店内は手前にカウンター席とテーブル席、奥に小上がりのお座敷があり、全部で30席ほど。券売機はなく口頭注文、食後会計。支払いは現金以外に、PayPayが利用可。

メニューは定番の中華そば(880円)をベースに、もやしや味玉、チャーシュー、わかめ、全部乗せなど各種トッピング付きのラインナップ。サイドメニューで餃子やご飯物、ビールとおつまみのちょい飲みセットなどもある。

今回の旅は 岡山 "勝手にラーメン祭" 前日に天ぷら中華の山富士。そして当日、10:30 オープンのカツそばの浅月。 そして 11:00 オープンの目の前に在るコチラミシュランの富士屋。効率の良いハシゴた！ ハシゴだったので、ミニラーメンは有り難い！しかし角煮トッピングしたら、その破壊力！ぐふっ！でも美味しかったです！！
