Discreetly located, took me almost 20 min driving up and down that short street looking for it. Goggle map wasn't much help as the blue dot just point to an indicative spot while I was looking for a big sign or something...it's located on the second floor of an unimpressive building.. Reckon that helped to work up a good appetite as Agu served 1 of the best korobuta pork shabu shabu in town. The meat is shaved absolutely thin so that it literally melts when dipped into the broth. Taste is just awesome w/o any hint of chilled porky odour. Dipped into ponzu sauce and popes straight into your mouth.. Savour the sweetness of melting marbled black pork... 😊. Of course, its not just about the shabu shabu.. There are heaps of other dishes to sample as well. My favourite is the grilled mussel with melt uni (sea urchin).. Sinfully rich with that creamy n buttery taste that linger in the mouth/throat as you chew on the mussels. The starter of slightly charred tender beef sushi is also very delicate in taste. Scrupulous! Got for the set dinner... Best meal I've had on this...

Up a flight of stairs to the restaurant. Inside the tables had a the heating pot on it. We opted for the Ala carte rather than the shabu shabu. The interior was rather rustic with tables seating with blocks of see through bricks as partitions.
The wagyu sushi was good- required a bit of chewing.
The tempura seaweed was also Excellent.
The ink noodles was very good- subtle The fried tofu was also Excellent
The bitter goude with pork and tofu was below average. The meat quality was poor and the tofu tasted somewhat burnt/ smoked.
The cold tofu with peanuts was also excellent.
The mango pudding was deliciously- super intense mango flavour- shame it was a small dish.
There is a charge for dining of 350yen- it may be to cover the cost of the 3 amouse bouche items at the start. The fresh pressed umeshu plum drink was better than the end than the start as was too sour...

The set menu is the way to go at Agu Shabu Shabu, providing a delightful trio of entrees, a generous serving of the thinly sliced pork, a "pork risotto" made from your own stock, before rounding it off with a tasty desert. Family friendly with a genuinely helpful staff, this restaurant is highly recommended for anyone wanting to sample the...
