Ugh, seriously? Ryukyu yakiniku Nakama after 10 PM and not even a glass of water? That's just unbelievably cheap and frankly, pretty rude. You'd think basic hospitality would include offering water to your customers, especially when they're there to eat your food. And don't even get me started on the whole ordering through that clunky tablet. It completely kills any interaction with the staff! It feels so impersonal and awkward, like they just want to avoid actually talking to you. You end up staring at a screen instead of engaging with the atmosphere or getting any recommendations. Oh, and the music! Seriously, how many times do they need to play the same few songs? It just adds to the whole uncomfortable and frankly, irritating experience. Honestly, it makes you feel like they're cutting corners at every turn and prioritizing efficiency over any semblance of decent customer service. Definitely not the kind of experience you'd hope for when you go out for...
Read moreOUR WORST EXPERIENCE IN JAPAN in 16 days, the staff was extremely rude. We had been staying in Halekulani for 5 days and we decided to try the restaurant next to it outside. We waited for 1 hour and a half for a table. The place had tables all along and we could see. The manager/owner comes to us saying that we should order in a table outside in a place without light and mosquitos (meanwhile inside is empty). The waitress told us the table in the corner was not booked and she showed us the reservation system. The manager just kept sitting other groups but not us. After two hours we had enough and left. We were well dressed, we were nice and patient, yet were totally disrespected. The place is dirty, full of bugs, since we had the chance to stare at the place for 2 hours, they do not clean in between groups. Go anywhere else if you are staying around: shogun burgers or Fuku sushi are great options where you can be...
Read moreOriginally, everything was ok, but once we known that we were treated differently because we were tourist, then I felt so bad. We ordered a family plate and Ishigaki beef spencer roll. The Spencer Roll were two sheets of beef with 0.5mm thick. We were surprised but thought that might be the beef was so expensive that 3680 yan could only have two "sheets" of beefs. But when we finished our food and checking the bill, then we realized that the table next to us (6 Japanese), their Spencer Roll were at least two to three times thicker than us (around 1.5mm to 2mm thick each). We also just realized that we were not served with any water but all the other customers had.
Overall speaking, if you were a non-japanese tourist, I will not recommend this restaurant to you as you might be...
