Disappointing is definitely the word that best sums up this restaurant. The atmosphere/vibe and the staff are the only reason it is getting 3 stars instead of 2.
Ordered drinks and got a pineapple sour that was incredibly weak on both the alcohol and pineapple flavor. After that disappointment, decided to try a Shikwasa sour instead of springing for a more expensive drink. I don't know if they changed staff after making the pineapple sour as the Shikwasa sour was completely opposite.
Onto the food, again it was just disappointing. The seaweed tempura lacked flavor, the Goya champuru was tasty but had small portions, and finally the worst part was the "fried rice". The fried rice is one of their most recommended items on the menu so of course we had to try it. However, when they brought it out it was not "fried rice" but instead it was bibimbap. At first I thought maybe it was just a mistake and they brought us the wrong item, but after checking the menu again it definitely says fried rice in English and Japanese.
Finally, it is just plain expensive for the amount and quality of the food that you are ordering. Definitely not worth the...
Read moreMy wife doesn't eat dinner, so the price is on me and my generally large appetite. This restaurant was a grand experience to include in Okinawa. There were some not great factors during dinner, but they weren't the restaurants fault. Kids cry and things happen.
The staff are friendly, and more than accommodating. They told us we could go grab some photos of the sunset and come back, so we did! The Okinawan cuisines were interesting. I've never had pig ear before, and I will say it is a local favorite (just not mine due to the texture). The Goya salad was very good, but the bitter melon was a tad too bitter for my tastebuds. Still excellent for anyone who does enjoy bitter melon. My personal favorites were the taco salad, and the mango cocktail my wife got.
There was even a cat that wandered about! Definitely worth trying if you're ever...
Read moreMust order the Agu pork shabu shabu. We visited in January and I still think about it till this day. It was so unexpectedly good. When we first got the item, we were shocked because it was just clear water in the pot, no soup base or anything. Aside from the clear water hot pot, it was one plate of Agu pork and one plate of veggies (can’t remember if there were noodles too). Honestly we were kind of disappointed and we both didn’t believed that cooking pork in plain water can be good, good thing we ordered a bunch of other foods to try. Towards the end of our meal, we realized the soup in the hot pot somehow turned from clear water to a milky colored broth and we then finally tried a bowl of the soup and we were both amazed. It was sooooo good and homey. We ended up finished the entire pot of soup even after we were...
