Naokichi — Restaurant in Onomichi

The food at the restaurant is culinary art! We happened onto this restaurant and feel so fortunate! We used google translate to read the menu and tried some things we’ve never eaten. We had a dish that translated to eggplant with miso/cheese. It was amazing. We also had a tempura plate that was light, crispy and perfect. The sashimi was delicate, delicious and perfectly presented. For a final dish we tried kamameshi - rice and seasonal bits served in an iron pot. It took time to prepare and it was worth the wait. Every bite was savored. Thank you to the extraordinary chef and the servers that were patient with our pointing orders.

The restaurant is small. You do remove shoes and the tables are low but with space under the table for your legs to drop down. We highly recommend and feel a Michelin rating would be...

ランチを頂きましたが、どの料理も美味しく、種類も豊富で大満足です。値段的にもかなりリーズナブルでコストパフォーマンスは高いと思います。キープボトルが相当数並んでいたので、地元の方からも支持されていることがうかがえました。是非リピートしたいお店です。

前回美味しかった記憶があり、尾道初日はここに決定、楽しみに入店。狭い店で多くの客は入れないので、予約して行きました。今回4人で行きましたが、用意してくれた席は、前回と同じ。観光客というより、皆ご近所さん、お馴染みという感じで、暫くして満席になりました。店の雰囲気も良く、居心地いい店です。ここはやはり魚でしょうと刺身から煮魚と注文。んっ？？何か違う、なぜか美味い！！！という喜びがやってこない。残念ながら、今日はダメでしたが、それでも楽しい時間を過ごせました。魚って難しいのですね、次回に期待します。
