This restaurant is famous for steak and yakiniku of Maezawa-gyu, local famous beef. The texture is incredibly soft and smooth, but if you are from outside Japan and expect juicy taste of lean (red) meat, you will think the taste of this restaurant beef doest worth to pay 5-6000JPY/100g, since Japanese people prefer oily fatty beef, called “Shimofuri” to lean meat and lean meat is not so delicious here. [Meat Restaurant Ogata] is popular for its steaks and yakiniku made with Iwate Prefecture's proud brand of Maesawa beef. This restaurant is directly managed by Ogata Farm, which has won awards at numerous meat competitions. In addition to Maesawa beef, this restaurant offers its own brand of small beef at reasonable prices. Another great thing about this restaurant is that by grilling the steak on a unique pot-shaped ceramic plate, anyone can enjoy a juicy and tender steak. The spacious and clean interior has a partitioned seating area with sunken kotatsu seats, making it recommended for dates and dinner parties. Also useful for small family anniversaries. On weekends and during the tourist season, many people use this restaurant before or after sightseeing at Chusonji Temple, a world heritage site, so it is a popular restaurant that requires reservations.
