I saw this restaurant when searching for omi beef near otsu station. And what a jewel I’ve found!
Reservation must be placed for dinner and although it was a challenge to go through all the Japanese words, it’s still manageable.
We ordered the charcoal grilled set, with two types of beef including Omi since we wanted to try out a variety.
As we stepping into the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly lady, who made us feel welcome. They even took pains to print EN menu and explanation for us! Which really helps us to understand what we’re eating.
The food was very delicious! The spices and food combination blend very nicely, and you don’t have the “jelak” or “sick of eating feel” that comes after you had something very rich or oily.
From the appetiser to the dessert, everything had its plus point. The meat were nicely done, very soft and really had that natural sweetness taste. The orange curry is truly a unique combination too!
But I’ve to give special mention to both the dessert and the house’ service in writing a board message. I placed a reservation for Mother’s Day, and I did give a pleasant surprise when the dessert came with the message board. It was so beautifully written, such an artwork!
I’ll recommend all that is near otsu or in otsu to give this restaurant a try out if you’re willing to have a splurge. But it’s truly value for money for both the food and service. Do remember to do your...

First, turnip pottage. Hot and light, perfect for to warm you up this season and to start off the course. I appreciated the quality pepper sprinkled on it.
Next, appetizers! They had roast beef and steamed chicken with mushroom sauce. The mushroom sauce is to die for. I think I want a bottle of that.
Before the main, salad! It's a variety of greens that are super fresh, drizzled with quality olive oil and rock salt. It's so simple and refreshing.
For the main, there's Sumibiyaki dry-aged beef, loin pork, and seasonal veggies. The pork meat apparently is very special (I just forgot the kind!) For the veggies, the sweet potato was out of this world! So sweet!!! Of course the meats are amazing. Not fatty. Just good, tender, quality meat.
After that, Jinen's famous curry! But I had to get a little detour and ordered a plate of cheese. Again, forgot the kinds but I loved the soft cheese. Very pungent! The hard cheese had cumin in it. Perfect to pair with the curry.
To finish it all off, bitter pudding! It is like Leche flan but way less sweet and probably a hundred times better.
I'm so full and so happy! I cannot wait to be back!!
PS The chef/family is so nice! Customer...
