Kura Sushi - Otsu Nionohama — Restaurant in Otsu

Delicious and affordable. My only gripe is that the salmon tasted like smoked salmon and was oily.. and was a bit light coloured. This has been the trend most places I’ve been 2024 April for my last visit, I wonder why. Only the expensive Endo Sushi in Osaka had proper salmon….

Anyway this place is great! Delicious dessert and great items for ordering too. For dairy allergy or intolerance (or lactose intollerance) the soy ice cream is yummy (tho very sweet) and the shaved ice can be ordered without milk and is delicious and not too sweet.

Very convenient as we ordered on tablets in English. The fish was very fresh and everything came quickly. Not many vegetarian options but the roasted aubergine is very nice as is omelette. The batter on the onion rings and prawn tempura was so light. More drinks choices would be an improvement. Stays open late when lots of places are closed...

First time to Kura sushi. The ordering system is different from sushiro which i'm familiar with, but there is no problem. English guide and menu is available. The sushi is good for the price. Overall a pleasant experience. Would come back if i ever...
