Omi Beer — Restaurant in Otsu

I haven't visited this place, but I had the opportunity to taste their CBs at the Shiga CB Festa. The stout had an amazing rich taste and flavor, and the IPA was also something special. Update July 2024: Fifteen of their own CBs are on tap, with most having an alcohol level between 5.0-5.5%, while the Stout has 8%, and the Biwako IPA has 6.5%. A couple of CBs even use local ingredients, including fish! The opening hours are limited: 11 AM to 3 PM on Thursdays and Saturdays, and 11 AM to 9 PM on Fridays, except for special nighttime occasions. Excellent small local craft brewery with a great selection of beers. They have a variety on tap and in bottles. You can take away bottles as well. We tried the Biwako Hazy IPA, Momo Ale, and the Koji Ale and all were delicious! I recommend the karage and gobo fries to pair with your beer! I must say the staff were absolutely amazing. They were so friendly and even gave my nephew some chalk to draw on the chalkboard below the register. A true gem in the neighborhood. Once you're done, go down a few blocks to visit...

We felt like home here, the family forms an amazing team to brew and serve outstandingly good beer and food! If we ever come to Japan again we will visit it...
