The Omi beef quality was very good, but the chef ruined it. He cooked all 200g of beef in one go, so the beef was amazing for all of 2 minutes then went cold and it all became an oily mess.

Service was very lacking for the price tag, we did not have our orders confirmed (pre-ordered online) until 30mins after arriving - nor were we offered any water, and the waiters needed prompting to take drink orders and providing water. The restaurant was only 1/3 full.

If this was a regular restaurant I would not have cared, but when the price tag is almost ¥50000 for 2 people, you would expect some sort of standard.

We came here for lunch and ordered the lunch special as we noticed most of the locals were. The Omi beef did not disappoint as it was prepared perfectly by the chef, we ordered the garlic rice and was disappointed that we didn't get to see this prepared in front of us as it was done for other guests. Very decent food, but Ōmi beef itself has a lighter flavor profile than Kobe beef so I prefer the latter for the fuller, meatier taste.
