I've been to Japan several times and have always found the Japanese to be very friendly and kind. This was the first time I felt unpleasant and uncomfortable. I still don't understand why the boss turned me away. He asked me in English, "Do you speak Japanese?" I said no, but I'd like some alcohol, beer, cocktails, or something else. The boss flatly said no, sorry, and then forcibly turned me away. While we were talking, I had just pushed the door open when he was escorting another male customer out. If non-Japanese speakers are not welcome, they could just put up a sign saying only Japanese speakers are welcome. I really don't understand how this seemingly kind old man could say such things. If you are lucky enough to be in Saga, then go here. It is truly superb. I was lucky enough to go there and I could not recommend more. The amount of whisky and whiskey they have available was unreal. And the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Please go here and enjoy.
