I had to write a review for Moliere because it’s absolutely going to be the best experience of your life for those who are thinking about visiting them.
I originally booked this place since I found it on a guide book and my mom loves French. I later realized that it’s a 3 Michelin star restaurant and got kind of intimidated to go. I called them roughly 2 months prior, and 2 time slots were available for Thursday lunch. They have 3 courses to choose from, and you do need to tell them which one you guys are having on the phone. If I remember correctly, they only take reservations by calls. The cheapest option is about $40? I think? It’s a proper course meal, and you can enjoy a 3 Michelin star restaurant. Unbelievable in my opinion.
All the staff members were stunning. Like I said earlier, I felt like I was out of place, but they were so welcoming and nice. I felt very comfortable immediately. The food, guys. From the beginning till the end I was in awe. I was nearly in tears of joy. I didn’t want my lunch to end at all. I don’t know if I ever had that kind of feeling. I choose the most expensive one and believe it was like $120 ish. 200% worth the money.
Please go. Although it may not be a classic French restaurant it’s undoubtedly delicious. You won’t regret it. P.s. We booked for December already(we’re...
Read moreIt was around 3 weeks before my trip to Sapporo and was a little late to make reservations. I called the restaurant from overseas and left a voice message. To my surprise, the restaurant called back! Yay!
I managed to make a reservation for my family of 3, including my 10 year old. We were happy to reserve the adult set for my child. We selected Menu Moliere for its namesake.
On that day we took a detour to the nearby maruyama koen to work out an appetite before we were welcomed by the restaurant”s heartfelt hospitality. Every dish was burst full of flavours! The chefs were masterful in using local seasonal ingredients . It was hard for me to select my favourite dish as all were very delicious .
One ingenious use of ingredient was the use of stingray for meunière! I come from Singapore where stingrays are usually grilled as street food smothered in chilli paste. It was a nice surprise to taste it in fine culinary, amazing! My whole family enjoyed sharing our experiences and photos of Singapore-style stingrays with the staff .
Thank you so much for the wonderful culinary experience and world class service! Hopefully we can...
Read moreVisited this place in 2015 and it was a truly memorable experience. The restaurant offers great value for money, considering that this is one of the cheapest 3 star Michelin restaurants in the world, with the most expensive dinner menu priced at 15,000 yen, compared to 20,000 to 30,000 for similar restaurants in Tokyo.
I'm not a seafood fan and was a little indifferent with the shrimps and oysters at first, but was blown away by the main course and the dessert. The sake cake was one of the best desserts that I've had in my entire life, and I used it as a benchmark for desserts since. The service was worth a special mention as well. The waitress helped us took a photo in front of the restaurant in her uniform, and it was a typical, freezing Hokkaido winter night. She insisted to stay outdoor until the taxi arrived and duly sent us off. Absolutely...
