Soup Curry Beyond Age Minami 19-jō — Restaurant in Sapporo

I stumbled on this place while I was walking back from the ropeway and decided to try soup curry for the first time.

The lady who served me wasn't confident in her English but she spoke clearly and guided me through the menu, which does have English labels for the dishes, but you need to choose multiple options.

I have no reference for comparison but my lamb dish was delicious, with a variety of perfectly cooked vegetables and tender rice.

It was quiet when I arrived and service was quick. Other customers were also dealt with swiftly.

Decor is functional and no view to speak of, but the atmosphere was relaxed and...

This is my third time to this shop, and this time round I ordered a chicken and vegetable soup, thick soup flavour, spice level 3. I really like the soup thickness and it’s flavorful too. Love each freshest ingredients in the soup, the chicken is tender, the vegetables are sweet and my favourite is always the pumpkin, it is the sweetest you can get in Hokkaido. Thank you for all the love and efforts preparing this bowl of soup.

Also, the manager is a friendly lady who is always ready with her big smile. The shop assistant is humble and fast in his service.

My friends and I just arrived in Sapporo and heard so much about this awesome soup curry. Easy to locate , cool ambience n relaxing jazz music .. one wouldn’t believe it’s a curry joint !😉 BUT... it truly was beyond our expectations! The curry was light though rich in flavour n gentle to the palate 😋 the chicken in the curry was tender n has a nice seared outer skin. Veggies were fresh and the added natto ( optional) gave a twist to the curry. I was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected quail egg too! This place is a MUST try for everyone that wants a first hand taste at a Sapporo original...
