日本料理 まる松 — Restaurant in Semboku

Had omakase sushi for a very very affordable cost. Sooooo delicious we wish we could stay here for another night just so we can come back here again.

We didn't read the reviews before walking into the shop. We stayed in a hotel close by and just wanted something to eat. I think there was some misunderstanding in some reviews. My husband is also white and we were welcomed just fine. Walking into the shop I let them know in Japanese I'll be translating the whole thing and we were sat down and served. I think the shop were more afraid they couldn't speak English and take care of customer properly.

My husband was so in love with the sushi he was raving about it the whole way back. He said he doesn't know if he can go back home and eat grocery store...

I was turned away, clearly because I’m a white guy.

My wife, who’s Asian but not Japanese, went into the shop ahead of me, and the owner was finding her a seat. As soon as I walked in he looked me up and down and told us to leave.

There was one other person in the restaurant, and it was a rainy Monday night, so there were plenty of seats.

My partner and I just got rejected from this restaurant. When I entered the restaurant (which was empty) and asked for a table for 2, the owner looked around for a table and when my partner entered the restaurant too (he’s Caucasian and I’m Asian), the owner said no / rejected us.
