I was surprised to find shrimp broth noodles/dipping noodles つけそば in Sendai, so I had to try them! I ordered the Ajitama Ebi Tsukesoba 味玉海老つけそばand Ebi Soba 特製海老そばがツン, and added two shrimp wontons to each bowl, along with a side of gyoza.

The first dish that arrived was the shrimp gyoza, which was hot and pretty good, with a thin skin and juicy filling. Between the two noodle dishes, I personally preferred the dipping noodles—the broth was rich and flavourful. The char siu in the soup noodles was very tender and soft, but the seasoned egg in both broths was just average—simply a regular boiled egg. The noodle texture was the firmer type that I like. Overall, the quality was quite high, though not exactly mind-blowing.

Ordering is done manually in the traditional way, and the menu is only in Japanese, so keep...

Since this was the “heavier” version broth, it was nice and thick in flavor. That alone would make this ramen worth eating. The noodles and toppings were quite good and the chashu decently soft. The egg was a bit disappointing, but otherwise I was very pleased. Add the free shrimp rice during lunch (weekdays) and it was...
