Kappa Sushi — Restaurant in Shizuoka

It's struggling to keep up with competitors. If you're looking for belt sushi in Shimizu I found Hamazushi to be far better; its a newer store and the menu had more options.

Sushi here was typical for belt sushi places, but options for other dishes were limited and the sushi itself felt underwhelming. A few things I ordered were unavailable or sold out - not quite sure which since my Japanese is not very good. Speaking of which I have to commend the staff who did very very well explaining the situation to me despite the language barrier, and who were very polite. I'm always embarrassed when I have to use Japanese so it was a little bothersome to have to speak to staff multiple times. I like places like belt sushi when I don't have the energy to speak in Japanese.

I left the place sort of wishing I'd just picked up a couple packs of nice Yaizu bonito at the grocery store instead for the same price.

Still, if the location is convenient for you (cloe to Kusanagi station) its not worth traveling to another store for a marginally better experience. Belt sushi is belt sushi. Go to a real sushi shop if you're a foreigner looking for quality. Shizuoka Prefecture has...

今のところ、回転寿司では最低のラインを独走中。高い、店汚い、マズイ、回転してない、毎年毎年毎年毎年ドンドン底抜けで悪化してるの七拍子くらい。値段は言わずもがな。おいしいメニューは単価が高くて手間だから、ドンドン消える。窓のサッシも入り口もテーブルも、特に待ちソファや周辺も古着屋レベルみたいに塗装が剥げてる。片付けの流しがきっったない。トイレの暖簾とか周辺も汚い。店員も挨拶もお礼も大して言えないのが蔓延している。教育も辞めちゃったんかな。土方でもちゃんとしてる時代に商売ナメ過ぎだよ。

良くもこうやって悪改を続けて出来るなぁと感心する。自分達の営業都合や合理化を問答無用に徹底的に客に押し付ける。

私は実は寿司が最初食べれなくて、そのスタートが、かっぱ寿司だった。だから多少悪くても依怙贔屓してやりたい思いが最初にある。 2000年代初頭はネタもどれも良くて安くて、2000円で天ぷらから、海老サラダとか寿司を余り食べれない、お腹いっぱいに私にその機会をくれた。次に姿やりイカや、マグロ等を食べていった。行くたびに楽しくて夢を貰ったようなところだった。定員も丁寧で、笑顔しか無かった。 今は昔のハワイのような楽園から韓国の半地下位にまで様変わりしてしまった。もはや思い出を汚すかっぱ寿司は名乗らんで欲しい。有るだけでムカつく。

この間も我慢して、やっと3年ぶりに行ったら(金が勿体ないけど、行ってやった)家族でも総スカンで、自分達営業都合の改悪の弛まぬ努力に家族一同、感心してました(笑)

もう、本当に辞めなよ。大手回転寿司の土壌に既にスキルもノウハウも無いんだよ。5年前にやってた食べ放題も試験的うんぬん行ってたのもアレも辞めちゃったの？迷走感凄かったよね。調べる気すらも起こらないが。
