During our recent visit to Japan, we decided to explore Sumpu Castle Park and stumbled upon Restaurant Ninomiya after an extensive search for a local lunch spot. Little did we know that our long walk would lead us to one of our best dining experiences of the trip!

Tucked away in a charming neighborhood, Ninomiya turned out to be a French-style restaurant—a pleasant surprise for us. Initially unsure about our choice, we quickly decided to stay, and we’re so glad we did! The warmth of the atmosphere was matched only by the friendliness of the staff. The three gentlemen working there were incredibly welcoming, making our language barrier feel like a non-issue thanks to Google Translate.

We opted for the multi-course lunch, and each dish was a delight. Our meal began with a delicious appetizer and a small cup of soup that was comforting and flavorful. The salad that followed was equally refreshing, setting a high bar for the main courses. My wife chose the chicken, while I went for the fish. Both were outstanding, but the chicken stood out as one of our favorite dishes of the entire trip.

To top off our meal, we indulged in their crème brûlée—hands down one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The perfect caramelized crust and creamy center made it an unforgettable finish. The experience was rounded off with a choice of coffee or tea, a lovely touch to our dining experience.

What truly made Restaurant Ninomiya special was the evident passion of the staff. You could see the joy on their faces as they served each dish, and it made our meal feel even more special.

Having traveled to many incredible places and tasted amazing food, Restaurant Ninomiya will always hold a cherished spot in our memories. So good I had to come back. Probably by far the best meal I have had in Japan and maybe ever this place needs to be at the top of your list of places to visit. Chef where so kind and have an amazing pallet to be able to cook some stunning meals.
