Takachiho-shokudō — Restaurant in Takachiho

Popped by here for lunch while waiting for our time slot for the Amaterasu Railway. The place was packed!!!! Super crowded but then again it was lunch time. Owner was very friendly though and kept asking us to kindly wait for a seat. We had to wait outside in the hot sun cos there was no place in the restaurant...a bit cramped. Does to be removed at the table, then sit cross legged at the low tables. But the wait was worth it. The nanben was so crispy and delicious! Definitely worthwhile to...

Authentic local eatery. Constant stream of locals dropping for a meal and also random groups of tourists like us.

Space is very optimised but food was served fast and was very tasty. Parking might be a bit tricky as there are only few slots in front of the shop.

There is however a community building right across the road with a carpark.

At time of visit - only cash...

We came to this place for lunch before we start our sightseeing in Takachiho Gorge. The food here are not expensive. My friend ordered chicken nanban, and I ordered Takachiho bibimbap, and they taste good. Really recommend to come here for some local meal when...
