saw the reviews so decided to check it out. They all said it has a nice pastry with red bean paste, so it is a petit round bun with red bean and butter. I also ordered a coffee au leit.

The bun is like a baguette texture, toasted warm and crunchy on the bite, I like it. And can taste the saltiness of that fat piece of butter, the red bean is on the mild side. The bun is a little petit so i finish in 3-4 bites. A dessert then, not a meal.

Coffee is good, smooth and silky, I like it.

Total cost is ¥630 (April 2025), the old lady operating this shop seems to have done for a very long time.

Must go when in Takamatsu! We went here on the way to the Ritsurin gardens and I’m so glad we did. (Depending where you’re staying they have another location so check out both). The anko toast was so good we had to get a second round. - this has been the first and only time my partner has enjoyed red bean paste (anko) so if you’re unsure about it- just give it one last chance here! The coffee was fantastic. Definitely the best drip coffee I’ve had since being in japan. Great atmosphere, relaxed and cozy on a rainy day, cool coffee books lying around which are interesting to flick through. I hope to be back one day to pop in for...

私たちは台湾からの旅行者で、今回の三人旅の最終日でした。栗林公園を散策し、近くで食事をした後、雰囲気の素敵なこちらのカフェを見つけて立ち寄りました。 まず最初に、コーヒーもお料理もとても美味しく、価格も良心的で本当に素晴らしかったです。

ただ、お会計の際に少し誤解を招いてしまったかもしれません。 旅の最後の日で、旅行用の共通費の中に硬貨が多く残っていたため、事前に金額を確認して、百円単位で分類し、千円札と五百円硬貨も含めて三回ほど数え直して間違いがないことを確認しました。 お会計の時、まとめて持てなかったので、何回かに分けてお支払いしました。

私たちは日本語が話せませんが、その時お店の方がとても怒っていらっしゃるように感じました。 硬貨を机の上に広げられ、強い口調で話され、私たちは驚いてしまいました。 途中で男性の店員さんも出てこられましたが、もしかしたら私たちがわざとお金をばらまいたと思われたのかもしれません。

お店の方が再度数えたところ、30円足りないと言われました。 自分の計算では間違いがないと思いましたが、反論せずにすぐ30円をお渡ししました。 しかし、その時もお金を机に置かれ、背を向けて行かれてしまいました。 私たちはその場で何が起きているのか分からず、とても戸惑いましたが、最後まで丁寧にお詫びをしてお店を出ました。

私たちは日本が大好きで、この旅も本当に素晴らしい思い出になりました。 もちろん、硬貨での支払いがご迷惑になる場合があることも理解しています。 もし事前に「硬貨では支払いできません」などのご説明をいただければ、私たちは喜んで対応したと思います。 今回の出来事は決して悪意のあるものではなく、むしろ誤解を生んでしまったことを心から申し訳なく思っています。
