This is a tiny little Banh mi stand in the heart of Nakameguro. I've been here a few times. I've tried most of their standard options. I've taken it to go and eaten there. This place is great.
I'm originally from Philadelphia, where sandwiches are part of our soul. So, living in Tokyo, I sometimes miss a good hoagie. What can I do? Konbinis sell something that's almost like a hoagie, with meat and veggies on a long roll. But the bun is too soft and the mayonnaise is too tasty. It just doesn't satisfy the craving. But a good Banh mi does.
Here, the french bread is toasted so that it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Then they stuff it with meats. I like the chicken floss the best. I also enjoyed the fried shrimp. Whatever the protein choice, there are also lots of crispy vegetables and a sweet and sour, vinegar and sugar sauce. They load it up with cilantro, too. My favorite part is the jicama; it's just so crisp and refreshing.
I ordered the spring rolls once. They were pretty good. Nothing special. I would've been fine with just a sandwich. I was eating lunch there and the place is tiny and cramped. Not the best ambience. But the service is quick and friendly.
Stick with takeout and you'll be happy. It's a great...

I got their speciality sandwich, which included pork, chicken, and pate. It was good and better than just getting one topping in my opinion. The bread was soft, but I wish a bit more crunchy. The woman working there was on her own and super busy, but she was great and very accommodating. Worth grabbing a sandwich if you’re...
Read moreBanh mi place that is not hard to find. Offers a variety of banh mi fillings. The ticket machine broke down and the lady did not notice us or greet us at all until we completed the payment. Then she informed us that they ran out of shrimp. So I was forced to choose another menu with the same price cause we already paid.
In the end I ordered their signature. The bread was decent. Came out crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The filling tastes excellent. Overall, recommended this shop for anyone looking to try...
