Service is rated unacceptable when compared to general high service level of other restaurants. More precise shortfalls are : Table is not properly setup with necessary eatware. No eating bowl and no long chopstick and no soup spoon. If they are too busy to serve , just put the stuff beside. I can pick for my own.
Not adding soup proactively. Soup for ShabuShabu is evaporated throughout the eating journey and supposed waiters should monitor the soup level by their own and add soup proactively to allow customer their boiling food and to avoid dry pot get burnt. Every time my pot got nearly dried, I need to call them to refill the soup. A bit tired to call when they are always busy around. Again , if they can’t serve, put the soup beside. I serve by myself is absolutely okay. Don’t set high service level but can’t deliver to customer.
No thank you in neither Japanese nor English when checkout. I don’t expect the waiters can speak English but a simple thank you is really expected in Japan.
The kitchen guys are good. They work quick. The frontline except the boy waiter, all the waitresses are far below standard and broke the brand of Japan. Will not come back...
Read moreMy wife and I had a great meal here! The price felt a little steep for my wife as she's a tiny person and can't eat as much, but we both enjoyed it very much. The pork was on the fatty side and was much better than we anticipated, as we came from a country that isn't really good at preparing pork.
The staff service was sufficient, but for an AYCE it's above average. The staff that sat us down tried his best in explaining everything in English and he was quite thorough! The only thing we wish was different was probably to know what the sauces were as they're only labeled in Japanese, but with my limited chinese and katagana reading we managed to find a sauce we liked.
The structure of the all you can eat dinner is you would purchase a "course," then you have unlimited orders of each item offered in that course plus a little bonus selection of carbs and veggies. You have 2 hour window to eat, and last call is 30 minutes before your time is up. So since the kitchen closes at 9:30, I wouldn't recommend coming anytime...
Read moreA delicious all-you-can-eat shabu place, whose staples come from organic, local farms. You can see pictures of the involved farmers in the lobby! Prices are really reasonable and the selection of broths and sauces is amazing. If you are a group, you must choose the same menu, which makes sense and is a given at any all-you-can-eat in Tokyo. But since the place boasts its tasty and fresh vegetables, I regret that meat lovers cannot order a plate of tongue or sirloin as a supplement and independently, forcing instead the entire table to order the 7900 yen (!) menu, including your eventual vegan friends. Moreover, this restaurant is understanbly popular among Meguro's hipster population, and often crowded: you must book in advance and the noisiness makes it difficult to engage in conversations, depending on...
