Bistro Kirakutei — Restaurant in Tokyo

This place serves an interesting kind of curry that I don't see much in Japan. It is really difficult to describe what kind of curry this is because it's not like the typical Japanese curry.

I ordered the hamburg curry and they separated the curry from the rice and hamburg. The curry came in sizzling hot. There are 5 levels of spiciness and I picked 4, which is quite spicy coming from a Southeast Asian guy.

Outstanding curry served with equally sweet and savory rice. I ordered the lunch set which offered chicken katsu, perfectly crisped and succulent. The young servers seemed a bit absentminded, but the rest of the staff seemed quite passionate and it was reflected in the quality of the food. Delicious curry spot recommended by a local friend. The curry came out piping hot (still bubbling) in a small pot. The curry was very fragrant and had a little burnt taste. I ordered the 辛い(hot) spicy level which was great at first, but towards the end of my meal, it made me think the 中辛(medium hot) was probably the better spice level for me.
