Very bad experience. We came to the restaurant but they said that there were no seats available so they told us to wait. 1 star gone. Then, a few other people came after us(a group of 3 people to be exact). When it was our turn and a seat was available, despite being first in the line, the 3 people behind us skipped the line, went ahead of us and proceeded to have a seat and the staff allowed it. They should have a list in which they write the names of people waiting in the line in chronological order. Then, when a seat is available, they should check that list and call the first person on that list to come inside. They don’t maintain such a list which is really awful especially since the restaurant is always full and has a lot of people waiting to get a seat in front of it. If they maintained such a list, this would have never happened as the staff wouldn’t allow them to have a seat. Upon confronting the head staff of the restaurant, he told us that the staff who carelessly allowed them to sit didn’t know that we were the first people in line. When we asked them to tell the group of people who were seated to get up, but the staff said we can’t do that because they are already seated and it will disturb them. Well you are disturbing us right now. Also, the group of 3 people who were allowed to sit should be ashamed of skipping the line and then sitting right when it’s our turn. We ended up waiting outside the restaurant for 15 minutes but as we were very hungry and presumably, there wouldn’t be any available seats for at least 15 more minutes, we left and went to Saizeriya. If they can’t maintain a list, they should at least keep a waiting room in front of the restaurant where the customers can sit if there isn’t any seat available. The staff not being able to assess our problem properly and giving an excuse that he forgot is not acceptable and shows that they are poorly trained staff and the 3 people’s carelessness and poor attitude for shamelessly skipping the line and having a seat even tho it was our turn.
Edit: The food actually tastes really good. Since it was a weekday, we didn’t have to wait to sit today. The staff were really humble and kind and they even offered complementary chutney and sambhar when we finished the sambhar an chutney in our plate. The dosa set, paneer butter masala and the thick and fluffy naan taste really good. The atmosphere is really good, there is artificial grass, plants, and vines all around the restaurant. It feels like a lively jungle. I’ll be removing one star due to the previous experience. I still suggest them to keep a waiting list...
Read moreBombay Chowpati Restaurant is located very close to Nishi-Ojima Station, making it easy to reach from nearby areas. The restaurant serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and the food is delicious. It can get a bit crowded in the evening, and the seating area is somewhat small. There is no dedicated parking space, so you may need to use nearby parking. Home delivery is also available, which is convenient. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy tasty Indian food—definitely worth visiting...
