DON'T GO.This place doesn't accept reservations and will likely end up as a waste of time and train fare due to them being fully booked by the morning and not mentioned on their website. They apparently have updates on twitter but by the time you check out their website you'll be left with the impression that you're fine to make the trip. The person working was extremely nice but by the amount of people being turned away at the door, It seems that their system of queing up people is broken. Theres not much to do in the area so if you were able to queue for a spot you may have to wait 4 hours before being able to walk in. When we arrived there were 4 other groups also turned away and while talking to the gentleman, more groups were turned away. The gentleman told me that people arrive an hour early just to queue up and considering that there are other capybara cafes, it is simply not worth it. We arrived 5 hours before close and couldn't believe the amount of people that were being turned away. I wish they would post it on their website rather than make you go on twitter(X) to look for updates because between them not taking reservations and the amount of people who were clueless of their policy, it seems very selfish to let people travel this way and be refused service. If the employee himself has to scroll and have trouble finding the part where it mentions twitter how is everyone else suppose to find it? As I said he was nice but that doesn't reimburse my suica card or the time...
Read moreIf you plan to come here, highly advise getting here early in the morning to secure a spot to avoid any disappointments. We visited on a Saturday, and arrived at 11.30am and were provided with a time of 4pm. This was fine with ourselves as we had read many reviews before and gave us some hours to explore Tokyo Skytree before coming back to the cafe. The location was close to 2 nearby stations, however is located in a residential neighbourhood.
The staff were very friendly and looked after the capybaras very well. We were provided with a secure locker for our belongings and the menu was available in English as well. The entry price is slightly more on weekends and a minimum drink order of one per person.
It was such a fun experience! I would highly recommend ordering snacks for the capybaras, Kohaku and Pisuke, for some interactions. The staff provide blankets for the capybaras to be fed on your lap. However the capybaras interacted with all guests. There was a clear pen area and private space for the capybaras if they wished to be left alone. The amount of visitors they allowed into the cafe area was limited and it did not feel overcrowded at any point.
The coffee was lovely. And you can purchase cafe merchandise at the end, including cups and plushies. It's worth a visit if you're in Tokyo, just come early in the day to secure your name...
Read moreOne of the rare capybara cafés in Tokyo, and since they are very popular on sns right now, you have to arrive early. I got there 10 minutes before opening, and had only to wait 45 minutes to be allowed to go in the main room where the capys are (some people got a return time for 4pm when arriving 30min after opening). This gave me plenty of time to chat and bond with other customers (who shared their carrots and pellets with me after that!). The two capybaras are very cute and will come see you even if you don't have any food for them. They are adorable and don't seem sad or stressed at all (one of them even likes to get belly rubs, and coming from a prey animal, you know it is absolute trust!). No strong smell, a blanket is provided in case the capy climb on you. You are allowed to go around the play area and get close to the capys if they don't come to you, buy them treats if you want to be sure to get insta worthy pics! Nice touch, the coffee is really good even though the drink menu is quite limited. You don't feel pressured to leave by the staff, maybe more by the customers entering the cafe and getting their return time, looking at you in the playpen with envy. I stayed for the provided 30 minutes because I had played my share with the two capys and didn't feel the need to hog their attention for...
