During my stay I have become increasingly frustrated with the cleaning staff. When we first checked into our room our bathroom wreaked of pee very similar to a public bathroom, our shower was (and still is) dirty with black like streaks and pink soap scum on the side - indicating to me they never gave it a thorough scrub down or cleaned it regularly after each stay. Even if they have, it should be bleached and properly removed from the walls at least once in awhile?!
The bathroom walls have a few brownish smudges with a dark brown smudge behind the toilet paper holder. There is also a hand print on our suite wall that almost looks like someone was applying foundation with their hand and touched the wall. I obviously have no expectation that a company should repaint a whole room lol but if itโs that obvious shouldnโt some care be put into lightly wiping it off to appear more faint?
But unfortunately this is not even all of it. When we first notified staff of the bathroom, we were very patient and kind and they helped us clean it right away. They even gave us new slippers which we felt was a kind gesture. However, day after day the shower went uncleaned and we felt rude to keep complaining but odd that something that should be done without directly requesting itโฆ isnโt getting done.
Then we started to get towels with holes in them, which, they kindly switched and then tonight we came home (after they did room service when we left) and their is a crusty light pink blob on the sheets (itโs a really obvious stain near the outside edge of the sheet below where the pillow would end, so I find it hard to believe it was an innocent oversight especially with whatโs happened so far)and hard sticky tape on one of our new towels. It really feels they are not being thoughtful or thorough when cleaning and tonight we have just become too frustrated.
Nobody deserves to come home after a long day and realize they have to sleep in unclean sheets with dirty towels at a hotel. We went down to the front staff who was kind and gave us new towels and of course since it is late, the cleaning staff are not here, so I will be sleeping on a towel tonight.
I would like to point out that Iโm giving a 1 star for Service in regard to the cleaning staff but the front lobby staff are very kind and deserve a higher rating of 4. For me personally, cleanliness at a hotel is my #1 concern as opposed to amenities, this is why I feel very harsh with my rating.
Some Pros about this hotel are that the front staff are kind and the lobby/eating area is open 24/7 so it kind of feels like a home away from home, you can come and go with your own snacks and chill. The location near sky tree is also amazing and has been a lifesaver on days where we are exhausted.
I would consider staying here again given the location but if the room and towels continue to be this disgusting I will definitely be more vocal. The overall hotel rating of 3 stars is an accurate rating but the cleaning staff standard in comparison to the 3 star...

Somehow, they suckered my wife into paying $400 USD for one night here on our way out of town. A quick check shows 4 and 5 star hotels in better areas (there is nothing of note near by the aptly-named โoneโ hotel other than sky tree) but I would let that lapse in value slide, as long as the accommodations and service are reasonable.
Spoiler: they arenโt.
The lobby area is overflowing with suitcases and junkโ packed and chaotic from the start. No help with bags offered, etc. Fine, whatever.
The room has the thinnest mattress I have ever seen, on a plywood platform frame (if you look at my photo, no thatโs not a thin box spring. Itโs a thin mattress on top of a wood platform wrapped in fabric.)
This was also the large bed option, which we paid dearly forโฆ
I happened to have a troika measuring pen with meโ no joke the mattress is 5 inches thick. At $400 USD per night. This is not busy season, itโs November.
Believe the other reviews, the beds are vile. It is the worst mattress I have ever tried to lay down on. The lie-flat seats in delta one have given me a better rest.
The elevators and lobby floor are FILTHY.
There are no amenities of note. This is a hospitality level for broke college kids, not working peopleโ if it were priced that way.
The check-out time is the earliest stingiest thing that weโve had in Japan at 11 AM, the staff are rude, and for a meager one hour extension to noon (the default at every other place we stayed, so we could avoid killing too much time before our flight) they told us it would be an additional 30% on top of the $400 USD a night rate (which we booked directly through them, no Expedia or middle man) โ again, for this absolutely subpar accommodation.
Hint: just say โnoโ - this offer was insulting as we were already feeling burned on the room.
The AC barely works (room smells โhumidโ and stuffy), and there is a ~15khz whine coming from somewhere.
This was an awful way to wrap up our trip.
The staff were unapologetic, aloof, and unaccommodating through and through.
Please do yourself a favor and avoid this vile excuse for a...
ย ย ย Read moreFor our first stop in Japan we opted to stay at this hotel for 3 nights, and overall, this accommodation exceeded our expectations:
The positives:
Amazing location, situated in a quiet neighborhood, 5 minutes away from the Tokyo Sky Tree and the metro which makes it very easy to reach. If you're coming from Narita Airport, you have a direct train which stops at Oshiage Station. Plenty of konbini and restaurants around.
We stayed in a Deluxe Twin room and considering this is Tokyo, it was very spacious. Plenty of space to walk around the room and have both of our medium sized luggage bags open. The room was very clean and felt "new". You have pretty much everything that you would need in terms of amenities, towels, slippers, iron, hair dryer etc. . You really don't have to bring anything with you.
The staff was very nice and spoke English. Check in was pretty fast and when we left, they were kind enough to store our luggage for free until a later time in the day. Be aware that the city tax is not included in the price and you'll have to pay it separately upon arrival. If you don't have any cash, they accept card payments.
The negatives:
There's one drawback that I feel is not really clear in the photos and because of this I'm gonna take away a point. The whole bathroom area is "incorporated" into the room (not a separate entity) and you only have a curtain between the two which is transparent, meaning that whoever's in the room area can see you showering. Even the toilet "room" doesn't have a proper door, but a frosted glass sliding one. If you're a solo traveler, that's not a problem, but if you plan to stay in a room like this with a friend or a partner that you're not fully comfortable with, this can be a bit.. weird or even a deal-breaker, since you never feel like having full privacy. For us, it wasn't that big of a deal, but others might want to know...
