I had been coming here roughly once a week for several months while I was working on a book. The coffee was decent, and the cafe is usually fairly quiet, so it was a good place to spend an hour or so writing.
Then all of a sudden, one day the proprietor came up to me and complained about my typing which, she said, was bothering the other customers. I was not typing continuously, nor was I typing loudly, and the keyboard on my laptop is not noisy. She was perfectly polite about it. On the other hand, a week or so previously there had been a couple of old guys, evidently regulars, who were in there carrying on quite a loud conversation --- so much so that I ended up leaving since it was getting to be hard to tune them out. The owner, however, had not been complaining about them.
