Capitan — Restaurant in Tokyo

I had been coming here roughly once a week for several months while I was working on a book. The coffee was decent, and the cafe is usually fairly quiet, so it was a good place to spend an hour or so writing.

Then all of a sudden, one day the proprietor came up to me and complained about my typing which, she said, was bothering the other customers. I was not typing continuously, nor was I typing loudly, and the keyboard on my laptop is not noisy. She was perfectly polite about it. On the other hand, a week or so previously there had been a couple of old guys, evidently regulars, who were in there carrying on quite a loud conversation --- so much so that I ended up leaving since it was getting to be hard to tune them out. The owner, however, had not been complaining about them.

I am not sure what the real purpose of the complaint about the laptop was, but I have not...

Such a beautiful and warming little coffee shop. Coffee is delicious and pair's well with either the cheesecake or honey toast. Menu is all Japanese so I do recommend having google translate app ro help make things easier for you and the owners. The owner are very lovely and passionate about thier craft. If you are in the area, and you love coffee....

A very comfortable cafe with a retro vibe and super friendly owner/staff. The coffee was good as was the cheesecake. Price is a little expensive, but they do all their own roasting in house. Cool collection of cups with a nautical theme throughout. One of the better options...
