Carica.ri — Restaurant in Tokyo

📣tip: if you can't speak Japanese and can't make a reservation on the phone you have a good chance at getting a table if you come in the first hour of opening on a weekday.

I've tried many times to make a reservation here but failed. Finally we tried to come on a Wednesday evening when they opened at 1700. They sat is right away with only two other parties there. The staff is young and seem very passionate about their food.

We ordered a salad with mushrooms and potato chips. Sounds weird but it was really tasty. We also ordered the wagyu beef pasta, we made it a larger portion for an extra cost. They force you to order drinks, one per person (I hate this).

Overall the experience was nice. Atmosphere was fun and inviting. I would the wagyu beef really... Tough? We sat at the bar so I watched them make it. Seems like the beef is premade cause I then green it from a tupperware. Didn't matter to me but I wish the beef was more tender.

The food here is surprisingly so good despite its simplicity. The restaurant is quite small, good for group of 2-3 people. We went for lunch and ordered tomato spaghetti which only has fresh tomatoes and cheese - a complete delight as the ingredients were so fresh and the taste was amazing. And also the ham and wasabi pasta was surprisingly fragrant and light and buttery. Definitely come back again as their menu is very creative...
