Doutor coffee shop Jiyugaoka — Restaurant in Tokyo

It was a busy Sunday afternoon and the shop was full of customers. From what I could see, there were only two staff members working. One was taking orders (seemed to be new and took mine incorrectly, but that’s okay—I’m a foreigner and there may have been a language barrier) 🗣️ The other staff member was making drinks while also training the new staff at the same time, which made everything very slow ⏳

The shop is quite small, and many trays with finished drinks were left at the return counter for so long with no more space left, likely because the staff were too busy to clean up 🧃🧹

I hope the shop can get more staff...

自由が丘駅周辺にあるいくつかのカフェの中で、最も利用をお勧めできないカフェです。 最大の理由はその狭さです。注文カウンター、昇降用の階段、客席に至るまでとにかく狭く、少なくともくつろぐためのカフェではありません。客席は1階から3階までありますが、昇降手段は階段のみです。出入口に段差は無いものの注文カウンターの狭さから車椅子やベビーカーは非常に通りづらくなっているため、障碍をお持ちの方や赤ちゃんをお連れの方の利用は全く勧められません。 給仕されるドリンクは他のドトールと遜色無いように思いますが、ケーキなどの一部の料理やデザート・菓子類の種類は少ないです。しかもケーキや菓子類は客が見やすいように陳列されていないため、メニュー表を見れば注文は可能であるものの、どのケーキがどれくらいあるのか（あるいは残っているのか）を見ることが出来ません。スタッフが常駐するスペースも狭苦しく、それによってスタッフもストレスを溜めているように見受けられ、接客対応もややぞんざいな時があります。 コーヒーなどのドリンクを飲みながらゆったりくつろぐのなら、他のカフェをお勧めします。

Of the several cafes in the Jiyugaoka Station area, this is the one I would least recommend using. The biggest reason is its smallness. The ordering counter, the staircase for going up and down, and even the seating area are all too small, making it not a cafe for relaxing, at least not in the sense of relaxing. The seating is from the first to the third floor, but the only way to get up and down is by stairs. Although there are no steps at the entrance, the narrowness of the order counter makes it very difficult for wheelchairs and baby carriages to pass through, so the use of the cafe is not recommended at all for the physically challenged or those with babies in tow. The drinks served seem to be comparable to other Doutor coffee shops, but the variety of some dishes, such as cakes, desserts and pastries is small. Moreover, the cakes and pastries are not displayed in a way that customers can easily see them, so although it is possible to order by looking at the menu, it's not possible to see how many cakes are available (or how many are left). The space where staff are stationed is also cramped, which seems to be stressing them out, and their customer service is sometimes a bit sloppy. If you are looking for a place to relax with a cup of coffee or other beverage, I would recommend...

2023年追記 通りかかっただけなのですが改装したようです。中も改装したもしれません。よく言えばレトロ、悪く言えばボロ…というお店でしたが奇麗になっているかもと期待を込めて☆3から5に変更。

2021年9月来店。3階建ての小さい店舗。フロアガイドには3階で喫煙できると書いてありますが全席禁煙で喫煙ブースもありませんので要注意(一応入口には禁煙になりました的な張り紙がありました)。という訳で安価で休憩したい嫌煙家の方にはオススメかもしれません。あと1階にも僅かに席はあるのですが、上階へは急な狭い階段を登る必要があり、足が不自由な方も要注意です。 窓際のカウンターから大井町線と東横線が望めます。空も広々しておりお天気を気にしつつ待ち合わせする際など使えそう。ドトールらしくクーラーも効いていて心地好かった...
