Fight Gyoza — Restaurant in Tokyo

The. Best. Gyoza. Chain (Yes it's a chain, despite it doesn't look like it at all and there are only about 20 of these restaurants in all Japan). Ever. They serve almost nothing but gyoza and beer, what makes it very easy for non japanese speakers to order. gyoza come by 10s and cost around 450Yen. That's a really good price. And guess what ? These WHITE GYOZA, as they are called, aren't the regular fluffy tasteless boiled stuff. They have a hard enveloppe, are always perfectly golden fried, full of goodness tasty filling. They are just great, I can't explain with words. You have to try regular gyoza from any ramen shop first and then experience those. You'll be blown. There is very often a queue in front of the restaurant, and it closes as soon as all this little treasures have been eaten by hungry clients, that means very, very fast. Don't expect a late dinner there. It's a real japanese experience and you can see the cooks bake the gyoza in front of you. Tables and seats at the counter. My number one recommended...

場所は巣鴨駅から地蔵通りに入り、 400ｍ程行った「寝具のしのはら」の 角を右折し、70m弱進んだ右手。 巣鴨駅からだと徒歩10分弱かかります。

店頭右手の窓口はテイクアウトコーナー。 テイクアウトの餃子は焼きと冷凍があるけど、 この餃子を家で焼くのはかなり難しいので、 個人的には焼きをお勧めします。

土曜日の午後の開店時間は15:30。 15分前に着くと、並び客は2組。 10分前の15:20に開店しました。

入って右手にはカウンター席、 中央はテーブル席になってます。 以前、左手奥に予約制の座敷があったけど 今回は未確認。

15:40には満席。 1人でサクッと餃子を食べて 帰る人もいるので、回転は早いです。

席の場所は指示されます。 2人だったので2人席。 テーブルはかなり小さい。 一応、荷物入れのカゴはありますが、 私たちはお料理が乗り切らず、 かなり苦戦しました。

ちなみに、餃子、単品のお漬物、 単品のチャーハン、ご飯1、ビール2、 味噌汁と小さな漬物2皿ずつ、 餃子のタレの小皿2はテーブルに 乗らないので、ご注意ください。

混雑時のテーブル席は相席になります。

お水はセルフです。

以前は餃子が焼けるまで20分ほど かかったけど、あらかじめ焼き始めてるのか 意外と早く提供されました。

以前の癖で、餃子が焼けるまでの間に、 お漬物とビールをと思っていたからびっくり。

●漬物¥480 日替わりとなっているけど 夏はぬか漬け、冬は白菜漬けが基本。 この時期は、ぬか漬けだったけど かなり浸かっていて、血圧が 上がりそうなくらい塩辛かった笑 まぁ、おつまみにもご飯にも合うんだけどね。

●餃子8個定食¥900 定食はご飯、味噌汁、小さなお漬物付き。

●単品餃子10個¥780 餃子は18個一緒盛りでした。 テーブルに置けなくなるけど、 個人的には別盛りにして欲しかったかも。

餃子は、フランスパンと同じ生地だと 言う厚めの皮が美味しいのよね。 あと、この独特な揚げ焼き。 揚げられている麺はカリカリで、 生地自体はもっちり。

あんは野菜多めでニンニクなしの あっさりタイプ。 個人的にはもっとジューシーな餃子が 好きだけど、あっさり餃子だから たくさん食べられるのだと思います。

●単品チャーハン￥890 チャーハンにも味噌汁と漬物が 添えられます。

パラパラ感ゼロのもちもちチャーハン。 こってり醤油味で意外と美味い。 トッピングの卵自体に味はなくて、 しっかり味のチャーハンと 食べてちょうどいい感じ。

●生ビール￥680 ●ハイボール¥630 ●ウーロンハイ¥580 アルコールは少し高め。 ビールは瓶ビールもあって、 アサヒとサッポロ赤星の2種類。

ラーメンがメニューから なくなっていたのが、少し残念。

Great Place. They can't speak english but with a bit of pointing at the menu you Will get There. The grilled dumplings where delicious, we really enjoyed them.
