2020 review: 1-2 stars. Staff extremely condescending (especially the senior staff, the junior staff were ok). Tastes nothing like in France (Yoshinori Asami patisserie, on the other side of the station is a much better choice, taste wise). Cakes are super sweet: taste of sugar and cream rather than the actual taste of the fruit. I have to admit that their Dacquoise cookies are very close to the original though.
They advertise "viennoiserie"( basically croissants and such) on their store front, with not a single viennoiserie product.
But.. the attention given to the "look" of the cakes and the "おしゃれ" environment they built makes them popular with the local crowd. Will not recommend taste, authenticity nor service. If looking for a present where looks is all that matter, then possibly a good choice.
edit june 2022: a fair amount of improvement with staff behavior. Dacquoises and their strawberry cake still the most popular choice. The strawberry cake is super Japanese, but I agree that these two items are indeed the best two choices in the store....

However, the taste disappointed me. The nice color matching didn't get nice taste matching. The flavors of cream, cake and strawberry were separated. The cake body is little dry, not permeating the cream while chewing. Strawberry is a little sour, not balancing with the cream which is also not...
Read more.We told the staff at the entrance that we were two people, but since they were all quite busy, we waited standing for a while before we could place our order.
After ordering, the staff member said it was a bit crowded and asked whether we preferred to sit inside or outside. I replied politely, “Anywhere is fine.” My tone was completely normal.
But to my surprise, the staff member rolled their eyes right in front of me, with a completely exaggerated expression, and said “Please wait a moment,” then went inside to check the seating.
When they came back, they told us to “enter from outside,” even though the outside path was like a jungle—lined with plants, narrow and awkward to walk through.
Honestly, I was speechless.
The strawberry shortcake was average at best. It cost around 1,000 yen, but the cream tasted like a mix of different kinds and the strawberries were small and sour. The orange sorbet was also completely unremarkable.
Overall, definitely not worth the price—for the dessert, the atmosphere, or especially the service. I wouldn’t recommend coming all the way...
