Service staff has NO basic English AT ALL to communicate, wait a while before judging (it’s a hotel, come on at least some basic)
Mind you, my partner can speak intermediate Japanese and enough for them to understand any questions we had during.
What was amusing was when they replied us in Japanese throughout and when we had some hiccups and asked to repeat, they didn’t bother speaking slowly or take out a device to translate. WE HAD to be the one doing it when they, who work in service like should have a translation device like the other hotels we had during our stay here.
And when we were struggling to find the meaning, the hotel manager continued speaking in Japanese and didn’t pause to see whether we got the message and continued blabbering. What’s better is that he gave such a snug attitude like “Not my problem.”
And here’s an edit: Other hotels HELP us fill up luggage transfer form unlike them.
If you’re in service line and you’re getting money from tourist, have basic decency to invest in a translation device or slow down when speaking to others who do not or have little knowledge about the language.

check in process was swift, and we were also able to leave our luggages prior to check in. our luggages were moved to our room when we came back at night!
room key is a physical key that you’ll have to leave at the front desk before going out. do remember to bring the slip of paper with your room number to show them when you return, to collect your room key!
amenities in the room provided were basic, and you can pick up extra ones at the lobby. range of amenities were available!
you also get free bottles of water each day per person, which you can redeem at the vending machine at the lobby.

Read moreI used it for the first time. The location is good, about 3 minutes on foot from JR Sugamo Station. You will find it soon. There is FamilyMart next to the hotel and Seiyu SEIYU is nearby. Anything can be easily arranged. There are 7-Eleven ticket gates near the nearest station, and there are several pharmacies and pubs along the way to the hotel. Breakfast can be eaten from 7am in the restaurant on the left side of the entrance. You could choose Japanese food and toast, and it was delicious and very satisfying for the price. There is also coffee and you can use a paper cup with a lid to take it home. The hotel room had a dryer, air purifier and a small humidifier. The room is very old. One 500ml water is served. In the room. The price was low and it was convenient to change to the Yamanote...
