Fussa Brewpub — Restaurant in Tokyo

Loved my first visit here… on the second (08052022)one the young lady waitress brought 2 plates to the table with a red napkin on top of each one. Placed one for my date and noticed the second was wet, she lifted the red napkin and there was still little pieces of food under it…I have managed restaurants and know that she probably wasn’t the one washing dishes, so I let the go as an honest disgusting mistake. Next she brings 1 clean plate with a red napkin. I proceed to remove the red napkin on top of the plate, just to be safe. It’s a clean plate but the napkin is wet underneath with the grease from the dirty plate from earlier! At this point i just want want a whole new set of dishes or leave…but decide to be patient for my date and get some new dishes, the manager doesn’t understand why there is a third set of dishes coming to my table so she ask’s, I don’t want to blame the young waitress so my date translates that the dish is dirty and hide the napkin so the manager lady doesn’t blame her. Next the young lady brings a beer and a soda, I think it’s an I’m sorry gift but nooo it’s for the wrong table. At this point I’ve lost faith in the waitress(plus my date catches her rolling her eyes on multiple occasions), and the whole staff sees me a jerk for sending clean dishes back….I order an appetizer, decanter red wine, and 2 steaks hoping the food makes up for it. Both steaks come out cold! I figure this places is just another gaijin disliking establishment. I pay and leave wishing I had just left from the very beginning……..The wine is all I can recommend which is a shame because the wine is the only thing they didn’t make locally in...

石川酒蔵の敷地内にあるビールとイタリアンのレストラン。

石川酒蔵は幕末の文久3年(1863年)に創業し2024年で161歳になる老舗の酒蔵。代表銘柄は【多満自慢】が多摩の地酒として有名。 その広い敷地には樹齢700年になる欅が御神木となり人々を見守っている。 そして、この敷地にはイタリアンの「福生のビール小屋」以外にも和の「食道いし川」や直売店の「酒世羅」などがあり、酒飲みのテーマパークを目指してるらしい。

今回行ったのは、福生のビール小屋だったが、予約なしで何とか入店出来たものの店内は既にほぼ満席状態。予約をしといた方が確実でお勧めです。

料理の方は好評通りとても美味しく今回注文したのは「小エビの酒粕ジェノベーゼ」「マルゲリータ」「クラシックガトーショコラ」それに組み合わせたビールは「ペールエール」フルーティーで苦味と甘味のバランスの取れたビールが瞬く間に美味しい料理をたいらげてしまう。

歴史あり、雰囲気よし、料理も美味しいのでまた、リピートします。

A beer and Italian restaurant located on the grounds of the Ishikawa Sake Brewery.

Ishikawa Sake Brewery is a long-established sake brewery founded in 1863 (the third year of the Tokugawa Shogunate) and will turn 161 years old in 2024. Its representative brand, Tamanboast, is famous as Tama's local sake. On its spacious grounds, a 700-year-old zelkova tree serves as a sacred tree and watches over the people. The site is also home to an Italian restaurant, Fussa Beer Hut, a Japanese restaurant, Shokudo Ishikawa, and a sake store, Sake Sera, which aims to become a theme park for sake drinkers.

We went to Fussa Beer House this time, and although we managed to get in without a reservation, the restaurant was already almost full. It is recommended to make a reservation.

The food was as good as the reviews say, and we ordered "Shrimp with Sake Lees Genovese," "Margherita," and "Classic Gateau Chocolat." The beer we paired with the "Pale Ale" was fruity and well-balanced between bitter and sweet, and we quickly devoured the delicious food.

Went here for lunch. Got the pasta set meal with appetizer, salad, main course (peperoncino scallop pasta), and iced coffee. I also got the cheesecake for dessert. For Fussa, this place is a 5-star. Presentation of the food was on point. Food was good and came out quick. Would have loved a toothpick on the table and napkins, but this is Japan. English friendly!
