We tried the Kamimura Beef all-you-can-eat course (かみむらビーフ食べ放題コース) and were pleased with the variety of meat and side dishes that we could choose from. I think it’s good to come during lunch time (11:00-16:00) for first-timers, because you would be able to enjoy the drink bar for free (which usually can be added on to your main all-you-can-eat course at a separate charge during dinner time).
Some of the dishes that I would recommend are beef kalbi (カルビ), cold noodles (冷麺), spicy soup (sorry I forgot the name but it’s the spicier looking option that has kimchi inside). The other beef cuts are okay too, but the Kalbi was the most tender in my opinion, and so was my repeat dish of the day.
The staff are also very warm and friendly in answering any queries that you might have. The rate of clearing used plates is still quite fast (considering that the place can be pretty popular on weekends/holidays). There is also a robot waiter that goes around collecting your used dishes from time to time, so fret not if your table starts to get too cluttered.
One more thing, the restaurant has lockers (not super big ones though, big enough to fit a medium-sized backpack?), so if you have any bags or coats that you’d like to“protect” from the smell of barbecued meat, you shouldn’t need to worry much! In fact, the place is pretty well ventilated, so even without the lockers you probably shouldn’t come out smelling like yakiniku (I was surprised that my shirt still smelled fresh and nice even after we...
Read moreI am amazed because every time I go to any bbq place, whether it be Korean, American, or whatever, I always come out of the restaurant with charcol smells on my clothes and hair, but it didn't happen here; truly amazed. Additionally, I thought the food was great and the portions were good. My family and I got the all you can eat option, and it was definitely worth the price. I also had a great experience with the servers and staff, I do not speak Japanese and I was struggling to understand their menu but the staff very calmly and patiently waited and explained everything to us with a smile on their faces. If you are worried about not being able to order, don't. Everything is very easy as you order through a tablet which has pictures and English and the food comes through conveyor belt! You can also request things from the staff, like changing the grill through the tablet so there is less miscommunication and there is a little robot that collects dirty plates. Everything...
Read moreIt's a bit of a walk from the JR line, but this was one of my favorite restaurants in Japan and definately my favorite Yakinuku. We did the highest end course that included Wagyu and it was very decent quality. Having your dishes ordered by tablets and delivered by conveyer belts is also super fun and an experience fairly unique to Japan.
The English translation in the tablets wasn't great so it was slightly hard to follow what was what. Still I'm grateful for any translation offered , and it wasn't too difficult.
I wish the time limit was slightly longer, but these AYCEs in Japan seem to be all almost identical in how they work...
