Mizutaki Shimizu — Restaurant in Tokyo

I had dinner at Shimizu for more than 5 times. The food is always perfect and personally I recommended it to many of friends.

However, in the recent 2 times, the service is very disappointing. It’s always the female waitress who has very bad attitude and emotionless expression.

It started the last time when I went to the toilet, the waitress nearly screamed at me told me that there is someone in the toilet. I don’t think it’s necessary to use this kind of attitude as I was just approaching the toilet to check whether there is anyone inside.

Also, tonight we went for dinner again. Throughout the course, we were polite but the waitress always tried to rush us to finish our meal, and even requested us to pay 20 mins before we reached the time limit.

When we were having our last dish which is the porridge, she cleared my bowl without asking me when it was obvious that I had not finished!!

We brought our overseas friends over and told them how good the food is. But she made us feel shameful to recommend this restaurant to our friend.

This made us wonder, is she being unfriendly to foreigners only, or to...

Fantastic chicken course meal. Savour the goodness of chicken in different cooking methods represented by each dish. Got to know that only the best parts are used so the parts are not from the same chicken. The server asked about our preference for certain internal organs. The freshness and the essence of the chickens can be tasted in every dish I particularly love the soup and the great finale with rice and egg drop with remaining soup.

Wonderful Japanese hotpot restaurant. We were in one of the semi-private rooms where they cook the food for you. Not only was the hotpot fantastic, the fried chicken and egg custard were amazing! If you don't go for the course, do try these a la carte!
