I tend to come here in the late afternoon when it's quieter; while many places open or serve lunch just at lunch time, it's convenient that Nishimaki Gohan serves lunch throughout its business hours. It's a small shop with table and tatami floor seating; it's very comfortable and has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. There's bicycle parking in front of the shop. Take off your shoes at the hallway before taking a seat. The food is good, wholesome plant-based home cooking. I do like their soy meat karaage. There are options to upsize the portions and/or add to your meal, depending on how hungry you are. I've tried the brownie which is basically a no-bake date cake, but I prefer their muffins and pound cakes, which are just the right sweetness for me. I especially like the soymilk chai here. The sign that is most apparent and obvious to read has one set of information yet the ACTUAl current hours of operation are posted directly on the door and in no way are apparent or easily accessible to read.
