PARKLIFE CAFE & RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Tokyo

Surprisingly good food, especially for a restaurant in a park. We've been to similar restaurants/cafes at other parks, but the food was always just so-so, and more for convenience and to fill your belly and to provide anything tasty.

My husband got the poke rice bowl, which he said was very fresh and tasty. It's a bit pricier than at most casual restaurants (1400 yen), but it was well worth it. I have the same opinion about my own dish, the plant-based loco moco. It had a lot of sauce, which was just perfect and not too salty, and the patty was really good too. It came with a little salad (undressed/unseasoned) on top, which was nice. My daughter's (regular) loco moco did not come with a salad, and the beef patty had gristle in it, which is never nice to bite into, but she ate the whole thing. I would have given the food 5 stars if not for the gristle and her lack of salad. I'm not sure why they wouldn't include it.

I give 4 stars for the atmosphere because it's family-friendly and very clean, but also, because there are so many families, it does get loud and noisy, with babies crying and such.

There was a bit of a wait to get in since we arrived around 12:30 pm on a Sunday, but the turnover was fairly quick, so we were able to get a table around the same time as we got our food. Would go back again, though, the next time we go...

Since it’s not a regular visiting place, the menu is good enough. There is a small kids area so a little more time to have your lunch.

Vegetarian options : Not much except the potato fries and some deserts.

Drinks menu : Good enough (non alcoholic).

Location : Just beside the aquarium, so convenient for people visiting aquarium and the beach.

Cost : A bit high.

Anyhow, it’s all about week days because there will be many food stalls on weekends.

春休み平日ランチに訪問。水族園が目的だったので駐車場に車を止めて何も考えずに歩いてお腹が空いていたのでサクッとランチできるところはないかと、ちょうどあったレストランに入りました。入り口のところに大きく表示されていたメニューの「ビーフカレー」の文字とそこの写真にひかれ久しぶりにカレーもいいなあと入店。親子連れで相当混雑していたけどタイミングよく座れました、ラッキー。 早速注文、ワタシは「ビーフカレー」を注文。混雑していたにもかかわらず、すんなり出てきたのでややビックリ、頑張ってるなあ〜という気がしました。ですが、でてきたのがカレーの中にヒラヒラの牛片が混じったものでした。多分頭の中の映像はカレーの中にビーフゴロゴロだったのかも。多分メニューにあった「三元豚カツカレー」の写真に釣られてしまったのかもしれません。この刷り込み効果を狙ってメニュー構成を考えたのであれば素晴らしい。写真の下に三元豚カツカレーと書いてあればこっちを頼んだのにと後悔しました。ビーフカレーの文字の直上にはビーフカレーの写真を載せておいてほしい、勘違いしないように。家に帰って検索してみたけど、ビーフヒラヒラ片ではなくてビーフサイコロサイコロの写真でした。ビーフサイコロならそれでも良かったのに、ヒラヒラが意外だったのかも。お味は普通に美味しいカレーでした。長々とビーフカレーのお話をしてゴメンナサイ。お店はいわゆる公共施設にある食堂というかレストラン。注文が遅いとか汚れているとかの特段の不備はありませんでした。混雑していたので早々に撤収、思えばハワイ感はありませんでした。普通でしたよ。 がしかし後日、クレジットカードの利用履歴に聞いたことがない使用先があったので検索してみたら、なんとこのレストラン、しかもゼットングループ。ビックリしました。思えば、ロコモコとかパンケーキとかもあったので公園食堂にしては少し変わったメニューだなとは思ってました。 そんなこんなで、もう少しゼットングループのお店らしくすれば良いのにと思いました。 あらためてゼットングループ各店...
