I don't review many things and normally when I travel I do. But this hidden gem gave me pure "midnight dinner" vibes (IYKYK). The workers were completely welcoming and accommodating even though I know absolutely no Japanese. Basically communicated through google translate and appreciate their effort for doing so.
At first the entrance was hard to find and be careful if you're tall, as I almost hit my head on the front door and I'm a shorty.
The seafood was top notch and you can tell master has been doing this for a long time, the price is also very reasonable and cheap compared to other places.
On a weekend it gets a bit more busy but the locals were extremely welcoming and happy for you to join the conversation or even start a conversation with you out of their own curiosity. Even for an introvert like me, I genuinely enjoy this kind of company and it is something I look for as an unforgettable experience for a solo traveller.
Thank you for the food and experience. I will come again next time I'm back in Tokyo.

Read moreI found this restaurant when looking for spots near our airbnb and made plans to go here when planning our trip. We went this Wednesday and we are so glad we did. The sushi was great, the fish they use is fresh and full of flavor. The sets we got were simple, but the quality of them is what makes them great. The true gem however are the owners (I wish I had asked for their names). We spent almost 2 hours talking with the owners and one of the patrons. We had to communicate via google translate, but that was not a problem at all. They made us feel welcome and we had a great time. We even left with a souvenir :) All in all, this restaurant is the perfect example of why I love Japan. The people, the food, the atmosphere - all incredible. It’s quite easy to miss since there does not seem to be any banners in front of the entrance, but if you use the photos on here, you should be able to find it. If you’re staying in the area it’s worth a visit. Can’t wait to be back on my (hopefully)...

People who visit Japan have experiences that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Dining at this sushi restaurant was one of those experiences.
As tourists who do not speak a word of Japanese, the host weren't deterred to provide an amazing service. They went as far as using Google translate to converse and get to know us.
The food itself was simple. Nothing flashy. Nothing unnecessary. What you get is a carefully-crafted sushi that highlights the freshness of the sushi.
Thank you for the wonderful meal and one of the most memorable experience we...
