高貴な人が、青年にティカを授けている。その様子は高位の軍人に見守られている。

貴人はビレンドラ国王。青年は凡そ30年前の若き日の店主。

江古田駅から住宅街を暫く直進すると、突き当たりの場所にスワタントラはある。凡そ20年前、妻に導かれて訪れた。それ以来の再訪となった。当時も小雨の日だった。

店主は昔と変わらず繊細で若々しい佇まいだ。厨房で手際よく丁寧に調理する姿をぼんやりと眺める。店内は小ざっぱりとした、素朴で落ち着いた色調。後に、創業の契機と記事で知った”深夜特急”が丁寧に置かれている。

優しく丁寧に作られた料理は、今も昔もたいへん滋味深く美味しい。私も経験を重ねて、２０年前よりも一層、感覚が鋭敏になったのかもしれない。歳を取るのも悪いことばかりではない。
