A fair distance (15 minutes) from the nearest station, this café is hidden away in the backstreets off the main road. It’s never busy when I go there at a weekend at around midday. There are counter seats and tables that are spaced out in a way that makes this small café seem quite spacious. Water is self-service. And there’s a little shop corner displaying a selection of coffee beans and other coffee-related products. With chill music in the background, it’s an ideal place to order a decent cup of coffee and relax with a good book. Desserts are also available, and the French toast I've tried is delicious! It’s served piping hot, with a warm dark caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s so soft and fluffy in the middle, and isn’t too sweet at all. Your bill can be conveniently settled with PayPay, and there’s plenty of bicycle parking out in the shop front. For cars, their website states that customers would have to use paid parking elsewhere. Taking into account that this is an artisan coffee shop, prices are actually pretty much on par with the big chains like Starbucks, although, I don't get why a soymilk latte is 150yen more than a...

What was crazy was their hand drip Ethiopia Wote Konga coffee. I chatted with the other barista and told her it tasted, juicy like a fruit juice, smooth, and clear. It had good body which lingers afterwards. What surprised me was the temperature. It was bordering on too hot. Meaning, it was just hot enough I could taste the acidic notes, but not too hot that I couldn't enjoy it. So of course, I had to buy...
Read moreA little out of the way even for people like me that live in the same city. Good to combine with a walk or bike ride in the nearby parks or along the river. They sell roasted coffee as well as espresso drinks and sweets. Not cheap, but way better than a chain. Large latte had good body and bitterness, apple pie was good size with scoop of ice cream, all together about 1000 yen. Not huge inside and was busy even for being in just a residential neighborhood, so seating may not be available at peak times, but looks like there is an outdoor patio for during...
