麺屋土竜 ramen mogura tokyo — Restaurant in Urayasu

I cannot believe that one of the best meals I had in Japan was in a mall in Urayasu. This restaurant is amazing! Everything is perfect. Let me explain:

Absolutely amazing ramen. Delicious wok fried noodle flavor. The meat was tender and smokey. The vegetables were tender but not too soft, and fresh and delicious. Most incredible ramen egg ever. It was red inside. Soaked for days. Soft and flavorful. Possibly the best egg of my life after Joel Robuchon. Kids are provided with children’s bibs, crayons, coloring sheets, kids utensils and bowls and cups and even scissors to cut the noodles. Oshibori (hand towels) provided frozen which is perfect for the hot summer weather. Beer served in a literally 109% frozen glass and poured perfectly. Water and tea on every table before you arrive, with ice. Phone chargers provided with cables.

Total cost for 2 adults and a child was USD 15 including beer. Incredible. I love this restaurant! Glad we stumbled upon it. Good job to the...

Tasty little joint on the fourth floor of the Aeon Mall. Quick service, no-frills ramen joint with a modern machine ordering system.

The tsukemen vegetables were massive, but incredibly tender and delicious. The broth was tasty, and the noodles were hearty. The egg was fantastic as well, dissolving in your mouth with a rich color.

Definitely get the tsukemen, though, as the ramen was just okay.

My mother is unfamiliar with the use of chopsticks, so the staff even brought over a fork without being prompted, which was very kind of them. That alone would warrant the four stars, but the tsukemen being absolutely phenomenal sure...

オープンしてから１月半に一度くらいの頻度で通っているが、今回はひどかった。頼んだものは土竜つけ麺中盛り1360円。 つけ麺が届く、まずスープの少なさに絶句。器の半分にも届いていない。写真撮っとけばよかった。。どう考えてもスープをおかわりさせるための量しか注がれていない。ここは野菜も多いししっかり浸けて食べるといつものスープの量でもギリ足りないレベルなんだが、もう100%足りないのよ。先に書いておくが、結果麺を半分ほど食して全く足りず+50円でスープおかわり。計、1410円也。 次に、玉子が乗ってない。付け忘れでした。まあでもこのくらいまでなら許すよ。全然問題なし。

しかし肝心の味だよ。スープにつけて麺を食べた瞬間口の中にチーズのような香りが広がるではないか！まっず！！何これ。と思いつつ２口3口と食べる。やはりまずい。過去１まずい。今までの経験からこのお店は作り手のポテンシャルによって味がコロコロ変わるイメージがあるが今回は一際ひどい。スープを嗅いでもチーズみたいな匂い。え？本当になんだこれ。他にチーズのメニューでもあんのかな？賄い用にこの器を使ってて、チーズを使った賄い料理食べてその汚れがこびりついたまま上からスープ注いだのか！？隠し味でチーズを入れはじめたのか！？など色んな憶測が駆け巡りながらつけ麺を食べ続ける。スープが底をつく。おかわりせず帰ろうと思ったが、おかわりしてもう一度同じスープが出てきたらそういう味にしたんだと諦めもつくしと思い、おかわり注文。

２杯目到着。明らかに１杯目のスープよりも圧倒的に多いスープが到着。器の半分以上しっかり盛られている。いやおかしいやろ、どないなっとんねんマジで。50円でこの量のスープ出せるんなら初っぱな払った1360円はなんやねん！腹立つ！ と思いながら麺を絡めて食す。 いや全然味ちゃうやんけ。チーズ臭なし。これだよ。 いや１杯目ほんまなんやねんあれ。 チーズつけ麺かて。お腹壊さんかほんま心配なるわ。

食べ終わってクレームつけようかとも思ったがみっともないかとも思ってやめた。本当に寸前で踏みとどまった。

店員さんのサービスは悪くないと思うよ。外国人にもよく教育してると思う。でも、1杯1300とか払うラーメンて業界の中でも高いわけ。その金額に見合った満足感を提供してほしいんだけど、今回に限らず前からあれ？こんな味だっけ？みたいなこと多い気がします。作ったのが日本人なのか外国人なのかまでは観察してなかったけど、味への意識が低いと思うよ。変わらない味なのは人参だけかな。ラーメン屋なのにそれはどうなんだろう。
