Bariron — Restaurant in Utsunomiya

Really delicious gyoza but a bit pricey. ¥680 for 5 pieces of gyoza!

I had to queue 2 hours 😭 for this [I queued from 8pm-10pm]. It's worth queuing when you are trying it for the first time... (watch the 2nd vid)

Despite the price, I would recommend trying this restaurant.

It's similar to fine dining style. It costs around ¥2000 yen per person, and we ordered 4 dishes only.

We visited on a weekday around 7 PM and it took about 20–30 minutes to get a table for three. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The boiled shrimp dumplings they recommended were plump and delicious, and the cilantro dumplings are a must-try for anyone who loves cilantro! What really surprised me was the beef broth pho — it had such a deep, rich flavor that I’d honestly come back just for that. They have a wide variety of dumplings and pho, so I’ll definitely be returning to try...

Among the many gyoza options at Utsunomiya Station, Bariron stands out with its wide menu and impressive bistro vibe. I ordered the plain gyoza, along with a separate dish of stir-fried aoba greens, to get a sense of what they are about. Both were delicious, with a satisfying taste and--for the gyoza--a complex texture. Service was friendly and engaged.
