Byrd's Pizza & Ribs — Restaurant in Yokohama

Underwhelming food. Too expensive for the very small portion you get. Seems like a failed attempt to emulate American BBQ. Dry, burnt-to-a-crisp ribs with a TON of dry rub thrown over the tasteless black meat in an effort to give it flavor. Get ready to get a jaw workout trying to chew through the "bark". Overly thin, floppy and salty pizza. Their large size pizza and rib combo is tiny, and expensive! Pulled pork sandwhich is decent, but also incredibly small. Waitress, although friendly, kept coming over and talking way too much, especially annoying during our meal. She swiftly took away our plates before we were done, and proceeded to hard sell some desserts even though we already declined. Cobb salad and mac n cheese were the real thing. As a Californian I can’t say for sure if the others were completely authentic but for my palate they were perfectly cooked and just right. Cornbread nice and buttery, coleslaw creamy and crispy, and meat soft and juicy and well seasoned. We also ordered an Arnold Palmer mocktail and there was a coffee with the brunch meal we ordered. Both drinks were great. The mocktail was only lightly sweetened. The coffee tasted very standard but perfect with the meal.

The price was high but worth the money if you can afford it.

The manger was rude! They’re only three tables occupied one was almost finishing the other was in the middle of the meal and our table of four. We were seated next to a speaker and the music was way too loud. We couldn’t hear ourselves talk. We asked her to lower it she said no. Then we asked the waitress who did lower it and then was reprimanded by the manager. The manager proceeded to raise the volume again. Then ribs were over dried spiced on the top along with the waffle fries the salt bbq too much without good taste. I think to ensure more drinking .
