What a refreshing unexpected experience.
We arrived at the restaurant after getting lost around the surrounding residential area at 30 mins before closing (according to Google Maps).
The two chefs welcomed us in, sat us down at the bar (we were the only ones there) and gave us a menu that was all in Japanese. The setting was a very small restaurant with two booths and a bar seating for 6.
Panic ensues as we tried to translate the handwritten menu via Google Translate and recalling anything I could remember from Japanese class in high school and years of watching anime.
After all that the only thing I could read was Nigiri and Chirashi which was great as we would eat anything at that point.
The chef (Kaneko) was very patient and asked us many questions. We successfully conversed using Google Translate conversation feature by having my Pixel on the serving table. Althought broken translation, we were able to find out he was the owner of the restaurant and has been cooking for just a few years.
He treated us like VIP guests and served our Nigiri sushi Omakase style which was AWESOME. There were many but my favorites were the prawn, salmon and tuna sushi he served.
He gave us a sampler tuna salad that was extremely refreshing given the hot day and each of us our own chicken miso soup. I'm pretty sure we didn't order a combo.
Last but not least, he gave us a ride back to our Hotel!
What a guy and what an experience we had for our first day in Japan.

Read more我妻の就職祝いで、お寿司をリクエストされていたので、前から気になっていた、緑区霧が丘にある、「寿し金」さん、利用です。
税別3500円、4000円、5000円コースがあって、真ん中の4000円コースをチョイス。お値段によって量よりも内容が異なる、とのことでした。
コースだと、最初にお造りとお惣菜が出て、それからお寿司になります。
って、まず、お造りとお惣菜の量にびっくりしますw。んで、味もさすが家で作るのは難しいだろ!と言う旨さで。
で、こんだけすげー料理出ちゃうと後のお寿司は程々かな?って思ってたら、こっちもすげーいいネタ出てきて、うまし!
いや、訳わかんない居酒屋の飲み放題コース頼むより、こちらのほうが満足度、高いな!
〆に出てきたあらの味噌汁も魚の旨さが出ていて大満足!
また利用しようと決めました。
ちなみにうまいうまい言っていたら、お土産、いろいろいただきました。
