I had walked past this place a few times and was curious about the beautiful Western-style house overlooking the sea—so I finally decided to give it a try. This Italian restaurant, perched in a glass-fronted villa, offers a nice view of the Yokosuka coastline (depending on where you’re seated). The interior has a wood-accented, slightly antique aesthetic, giving off that “old Western home” vibe.
However, things started off on a less-than-ideal note. I arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation time, only to find that we weren’t allowed in until every guest from every party scheduled for that time slot had arrived. So, we waited. And waited. On benches by the dimly lit back entrance. It felt less like a welcome and more like an airport boarding gate for the eternally delayed.
Eventually, once the final latecomers showed up, we were seated—fortunately at a window with a sea view. I took some photos since the setting is quite picturesque, especially with the coastal backdrop. But truthfully, the mood had already dipped a bit.
We ordered the course menu said to feature local Yokosuka ingredients. The food? Entirely average. Nothing bad, but nothing that made me want to rave about it either. Maybe that’s a good thing—consistency over drama?
The service was hit-or-miss. One staff member was constantly smiling and helpful (thank goodness for them), while others seemed either unsure or surprisingly cold for a restaurant in this price range. I ended up directing all requests through the one friendly staff member, who saved the experience from sinking further.
The biggest issue? Pacing. The course menu came out slowly—to the point where we were getting full just from the gaps between dishes. My companion was short on time, so we couldn’t enjoy the food and ambiance as intended.
If the restaurant insists on making guests wait for all parties to arrive—even at lunchtime—they should at least streamline the service once you’re seated. Right now, it feels like everything runs on the restaurant’s terms, not the guests’.
Is it worth the price? That’s debatable. Maybe it’s fine if you’re here to support local Yokosuka businesses, but for the overall experience, I’d say there’s room for improvement in both service flow and...
Read moreNice place for fancy meal, reservations required. Overall, the food was 4 stars, but some courses were more, some were less: Soup - 4 stars, good but nothing special Antipasto salad - 5 stars, blend of flavors was superb Bread - 3 stars, a bit dry and no butter or oil to dip the bread in Pasta - 3 stars, the noodles were too al dente and were actually still crunchy. Other than that, the Pork ragu sauce was very good. The clam pasta was just okay, I don't recommend it for the extra price. Main - 4 stars, both the fish and pork main dishes were quite good Dessert - 4 stars, the ice cream was the best part, the cakes were okay but the pound cake was a little dry Espresso - 5 stars, some of the best I've had in Japan Wine - 4 stars (we ordered a bottle of the more...
Read moreRecently opened Italian restaurant in Verny Park with gorgeous views of the harbor. The ambiance is romantic yet also a classy dining place for two or large group. The 2nd floor can accommodate a small gathering from 30-50 people. The service is impeccable and the cuisine is very delicious. Highly recommend this dining experience for a special occasion or a date night spot. Once the weather is warmer they offer an outdoor dining option with cute bistro chairs and red umbrellas. The restaurant itself is situated in Verny Park and near the...
