I talked my colleagues into checking this place out. It is on the 2nd floor and the 1st floor sign by the stairs mentions a Thai restaurant by another name - so don't think you're lost. Also, the server could communicate well in English, which was a plus at the start.
The menus (several different menus) are expansive. The folks in my party ordered a variety of options and everyone else was well-pleased with the food. One person ordered a curry soup, one ordered fried rice, one ordered the bankok set... three of us got a Singha beer (soo good on a hot day). Two others, I do not recall the order. At any rate...
Would I recommend it? With a caveat - absolutely.
The server asked me if I wanted spice, to which I said "no." The item came out too spicy for me (I actually like the taste of spicy food, but have truly horrible GERD). I initially tried to eat it anyway, but had one extremely spicy bite (like caused coughing and face flushing spicy). The server was sort of rude about me asking to send it back and blamed the miscommunication on me. Apparently, she interpreted my "no" to spicy as mild but, reader, at least one bite was absolutely not mild. She continued to blame it on me until after we left. It was upsetting.
That is to say if you go: (1) be explicit if you can't handle spicy, and (2) be prepared for the posibility of something other than ultra polite Japanese...

Read moreFancier inside than it looks from the outside! Most of the lunch sets were 1180 (if not all). Many to choose from! I got the something curry level 2 spicy, husband the Tom yam koong noodles level 3 spicy. Curry was mild and tasty. Lemongrass, coconut, something with black licorice type taste (ignorant). The meat was probably intestines (maybe that’s what this curry is all about), very nice. Husband’s noodles were good too, but I wouldn’t have been able to get past five spoonfuls of the level 3. Just for my records. They said level 1 is not spicy. Waitress, waiter, customers were Thai (didn’t see the kitchen). Must be authentic. Parked at the Saikaya parking, shopped there and crossed the street to this restaurant. Would like...
